On Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers battled against the Colorado Rockies for a spot in the postseason. The Dodgers were able to make it into the playoffs in a tie-breaker game, as they won 5 to 2.

Entering the game, a lot was on the line for both teams. If the Dodgers won, they would defend their National League West Championship title for the sixth year in a row and make it to the playoffs. If the Rockies won the game, they would win their first division title in the National Series. At the bottom of both the fourth and fifth inning, the Dodgers scored two points, dominating over the competition and scoring a final point in the sixth. The Rockies tried putting up a fight by scoring two points but in the end it wasn’t enough to make a successful comeback.

Dodger’s fan, Serena Hopkins (9) said, “[I’m] happy [the Dodgers] beat the Rockies and as a softball player I can understand their happiness.”

After the game, third baseman for the Dodgers, Justin Turner, said in an interview, “It was an incredible ride. [A] lot of adversity but we pulled it out in the end.”

On Thursday October 4th, the Atlanta Braves will be facing the Dodgers at the Dodger Stadium for the next spot in the playoffs. Until then, the future of the Dodgers and their chance at a championship remains
