The long wait is finally over for all Marvel fans. The very last Avengers movie is breaking all box office records with an unprecedented $1.2 billion on its opening weekend. Following its release on Thursday, April 24th, Avengers: Endgame has fully taken over all social media platforms and has already become the fifth highest grossing film of all time.

Now, you might have seen many spoilers on the internet, whether that be on the web or on social media, but fear not, this is a no-spoiler alert, despite being extremely tempted to do it. So without further ado, grab a drink and some snacks and let’s discuss what the potential highest-grossing second weekend in North American history is all about.

First and foremost: where you at physics nerds? You guessed it, this movie revolves entirely around bizarre quantum mechanical tactics, so if you are anything like me, hold on to your seat and enjoy the ride.

Imagine having to save the world from a giant purple grape named Thanos and in the middle of thinking of a way to defeat him, someone walks in and insists that quantum nonsense is the only way out. I bet you would just drop to the floor laughing and carry on brainstorming. Well, that person was not wrong. In the movie, time travel is the bridge between all and nothing.

Regarding the time travel aspect of the plot, Vianna Gonzalez (10), an avid Marvel fan, commented, “Time travel added a different flavor to the plot and made it a lot more interesting! As for the sequence of events, I think it was very well-organized. I was never lost on what was happening. Also, every minute of the movie was efficiently used. It wasn’t stretched nor rushed—just the perfect sequence and pace.”

One of the things that sets this movie apart from others is how well it stands in the middle of various genres, such as action, comedy, science fiction, and drama.

Lauren La Rue (10), a Film Club board member, elaborated on the movie plot saying, “Endgame is the perfect conclusion to the Avengers series. It strongly pulls your attention, engages your emotions, and leaves you feeling satisfied despite all that happens throughout. After this ending, Marvel can stop making more movies and I honestly would not be upset.”

Other Film Club members also agreed on the classification of the movie as a multi-genre film pertinent to all ages and all groups of people. Moreover, if you are a Thor fan, you will probably be a bit disappointed, but you will certainly get a great laugh.

So, how does the game end? Will the purple grape be defeated once and for all? Who will make it? Who will not? I know there are many questions racing through your head right now, and as tempted as I am to spoil it to you, I am not going to. Buy your tickets now to find out! And to those of you who already watched it, no spoilers permitted.
