Clinton Caught with a Cough

Clinton Caught with a Cough

Hours after she quickly left a ceremony in memory of 9/11, Hillary Clinton was rumored to have pneumonia. Later that day, her doctor made the formal announcement that the presidential candidate was in fact sick.

Clinton’s physician, Dr. Lisa R. Bardack, explained that at the 9/11 memorial, Clinton became, “overheated and dehydrated,” and after receiving a check up, was “…put on antibiotics and advised to rest and modify her schedule.”

After a viral video of Clinton almost falling-trying to get into a van-hit the internet with the announcement of her sickness, critics quickly began to question the candidate’s trustworthiness in face of hiding the illness. Her trustworthiness is also on the line due to her previous scandals.

On the other hand, Republican nominee, Donald Trump, has only provided only one false medical report. In a report, Trump’s doctor, Dr. Harold N. Bornstein states that, “If elected, Mr. Trump… will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.” Supporters of Clinton argue that Trump needs to be held to the same critical standards as his opponent, and that his trustworthiness is just as questionable.

Similar to Clinton’s supporters, Louise Cuaresma (11) believes that Trump should not have the upper hand because, “…he has no reason to lie about his health if nothing is wrong.”
Despite her condition, Clinton will begin campaigning on Thursday at the earliest. She took to Twitter to thank those who wished her well, saying, “Like anyone who’s ever been home sick from work, I’m just anxious to get back out there. See you on the trail soon.”
