Unlike the Oscars, the Grammys have a host this year. The Grammys are an annual award show celebrating the technical and artistic feats of music for the year. In the rush to find hosts for award shows, the Grammys finally got their host, Alicia Keys.

It is fitting that the artist got the job of hosting the show since she has won fifteen Grammy awards over the years of creating and performing such as “Best New artist” and “Song of the Year” since 2002 from the Grammys.

Keys is ecstatic to be the host, stating “I am so excited to be the master of ceremonies on the biggest night in music and celebrate the creativity, power, and music.” As a singer, Keys has performed on stage many times before, and in that same vein she states “I know what it feels like to be on stage, and I am going to bring that vibe and energy.” Hearing this from the artist gives fans of the Grammys good hope for what to expect from the show.

A fan of music and the Grammys Kyra Palmieri (11), expresses her feeling on the choice of host stating “I think it is kind of cool that she is hosting since she has won a lot of awards and has a relatively unproblematic past.” The great thing about her not having a clean past is that no one can attack her off of the hosting position like people on the internet did to Kevin Hart when he was announced to host the Oscars.

Another student and fan of Keys, Jillian Siazon (10) expresses her excitedness of the singer being the host by saying “ NO ONE, like the song No One, is better than Alicia Keys!” She exclaimed that she would then watch the Grammys when the time comes.

The show will be airing on CBS on February 10th at 5 P.M. pt and 8 P.M. ET. Tune in to see the award winners in today’s top players in music such as Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Willie Nelson and much more.
