On October 24, 2018, Megyn Kelly made some remarks regarding blackface on Megyn Kelly Today. NBC and Kelly are in talks with what is going to happen with her future at NBC.

In an interview with Hoda Kotb of the Today show, she said, “Today, as you know, we are starting a new chapter in the third hour of our show as it evolves. We want you to know that the entire Today family will continue to bring you informative and important stories, just as we always have.”

The Today Show ‘family’ is shaken up about Kelly’s sudden firing from NBC and with her show also being canceled by the network.

Before Megyn Kelly was fired from NBC, she said, “But was is racist? You truly do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. That was OK when I was a kid, as long you were dressing like a character.”

She made remarks to many celebrities, including Jane Fonda, and the cast of Will & Grace. In the first week of her controversial show, she made remarks to Fonda by insulting her when Fonda brought up how she got plastic surgery. After Kelly’s controversial interview with Fonda, Kelly apologized on-air to Fonda about the remarks she made about her story.

For now, Al Roker, the weatherman from The Today Show will take over Kelly’s 9am slot on NBC, until NBC gets a replacement for the show.
