A Chance at Revival

He was the internet sensation back in 2010. Touring around the world, with artists such as Cody Simpson, Greyson Chance made his mark in the music industry. Since then, he has taken a break to focus on school, but now Chance is back, slowly climbing his way  back up… one song at a time.

Back in April 2010, Chance performed a cover of hit song, “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga and posted it on YouTube. The video went viral and television host, Ellen DeGeneres, immediately contacted Chance after its upload. He made his debut on The Ellen Show and performed his rendition of  “Paparazzi” on the show.

The Ellen Show opened up doors for him as he made his first album, Hold on ‘til the Night, just a little after being discovered. The album reached #29 on the iTunes chart and 16,000 copies were sold by the first week of release.

Last November, Chance was invited back to The Ellen Show where he and DeGeneres caught up on life, love, and upcoming music.

In an interview with Fuse TV, Chance said, “I feel relieved and grateful that the fans enjoyed the music. It makes me… confident now to go back and start writing new music… to think that these fans will be by me.” And these fans have been by his side from the start.

Kristen Knaus (10) said, “When I first listened to [Chance] on Ellen, I was surprised on how well he sang for being so young. His new album really shows how far he’s come in the music industry.”

The music industry is difficult to make ones way into, but Chance managed to make his way back in. If you have time, make sure to check out Chance’s most recent album, Somewhere Over My Head!
