Senior Wills

I , Jane Kang, will the following:

Smoke Signals Staff: Adrian Kimmok – Remember when we met in 2006? Your mom made us some awesome mandu and you played basketball in the rain. Haha. Adrian, I loved working with you this year. You’re so amazing at everything you do and I know that you’ll do a great job as Editor-in-Chief next year. Don’t let Senioritis strike you too hard, but don’t forget to have some fun once in a while! Send me postcards from Stanford and, please, sleep my nocturnal friend. Bryan Phan – Bryan with a “y!” My first impression of you at Michelle’s summer meeting was a highly intelligent Angry Asian. You certainly proved me wrong this year with your hilarious antics (not to say that you aren’t smart J). Thanks for making me laugh through all of the crazy moments in class, and I’ll never forget “C-Bot” or “Weasel.” LAKERSSS!! Ariel Kimmok – Ah, my protégé. I also met you on the same day that I met Adrian, when you were still a small kid with a high voice. But you are finally an upperclassman! How time flies. Ariel, I know that I can trust you to do a good job next year because I’ve seen your work. Thank you for taking my assignments seriously despite your other rigorous classes. Don’t stress too much about Junior year! It goes by so fast! Esther Kim - Esther, the baby. I wish we talked more throughout the school year. However, you definitely have improved as a writer, so keep honing your skills. Congratulations on also becoming an upperclassmen! I’m excited to see how much you’ll grow at the end of high school! Aniqa Azad – My Algebra 2 Honors buddy! Memories. We’ve had some very interesting conversations this year. Hahaha. Your artistic talent never fails to impress me! Keep making beautiful art! I really enjoyed reconnecting with you this year. Have a great Senior year! Michelle Cho – MC! How could I possibly have survived Senior year without you, sister? Thank God you were in 90% of my classes. ..hahaha. Thanks so much for all of your help when I, being a loser, missed classes because I slept through 16 rings of my alarm clock. I can’t believe we’ll be in opposite ends of the country, but have fun at RISD! One day when you become famous, I’ll brag about you. Oh, and I have four words for you: “Okay, drop that bit.” Ephraim Lu – Oh, what a character. I have never met anyone like you in my life. Thank you for always entertaining me with your craziness. I don’t think that I’ve ever seen you in a crabby mood, which is pretty amazing. I’m so happy for you that you got into your dream school! Have a great freshman year of college, Mr. Carey! Jennifer Welch – Jennifer, you’re so hard-working and sweet. You’ve never missed a single assignment and you’ve been so great to work with. You will do a fanstastic job as Assistant Editor-in-Chief next year. Keep up the good work because you will get very far in life J. Have a great Senior year. Jason Park –I’ll never forget, “No! We can’t use that song; it’s not diva enough.” And you singing to Chelley’s “Took the Night.” You improved so much as a photographer this year! Don’t stop taking pictures! Have an awesome Senior year and good luck in anything you do! Your OP was awesome! Hanna Joo – My Korean pop star! It was so fun being in the same class with you! Keep coming over so I can see you sometimes! Good luck Senior year and don’t stop singing! Diana Han – Your art is so amazing! I hope you learn a lot in Korea so you can improve Smoke Signals next year. I’ll call you up in Korea so we can go PARTAY~! Oh, and thank you for always giving me rides! Jessica Chung – Jessica! I’m sad that we didn’t get to interact a lot. However, I enjoyed getting closer to you this year! Remember Homecoming? Hahahaha. Good luck next year in everything you do. Work hard so you can go to that dream art school!

Lunch Buddies: Grace Lee – Grace! I had so much fun with you since freshman year! Remember all of those memories at TFPC and PBC? Good times. I’ll cherish your beautiful birthday cards forever. And when you become a fashion designer, remember to hook me up with some nice clothes. Grace Yoo – I really enjoyed running with you. Even though you’ll be busy this summer, I hope you still have fun! Don’t be too stressed! Thanks for all of the memories we created! Remember our first Homecoming? Lessons… LOL. Cindy Hong: “HEY, SNOOKI!” Hahaha. I will have to hear you rant in Portugese some other day. Thanks for being such a kind friend throughout the years. I’ll miss you very much. I love you! Mimi Son – Miss Manila! I had a lot of fun with you in the past two years. Remember my sister the manicurist? J Good luck with everything and you must take me to Hawaii one day. Catherine Yoon – Beautiful Cat. You were so gorgeous at prom. I’ll miss you and our CRAZY Kumon moments. JAKE! Haha. Good luck in the future. I love you girls.

Gloria Gang – Seohyun Park. High school with you has been so much fun. I’ve watched you mature throughout the years and I will continue to do so. Remember our 2PM days? OH MY GOSH. HAHAHAHA! I love you. See you at church. Na ee jae dae hak seng daet da go nuhl mushi haji ahn eul gae. ;)

I, Ephraim Lu, leave my will to the following:

Michelle Cho (12)—Starting off, I would just like to thank you for being such an amazing Editor in Chief. Smoke Signals definitely would not have been the same if it hadn’t been for all the effort both you and Mrs. Marsiglia had put in. So, thanks! (On a different note, it was definitely great to have you in most of my classes throughout high school so that was a definite bonus.)

Ashley Jakubczyk (12)—Although I’ve only known you for less than two years, it’s unbelievable how close we’ve become in terms of friendship. I still feel indebted to you, considering how much you’ve helped me out with various things including giving me rides, taking me on your “adventures,” and just giving advice for my problems. I know for sure we’re going to keep in contact after graduation; don’t forget about SeaWorld! Prom preparations also meant a lot to me. I mean I know it’s probably not enough right now, but I give you my sincerest gratitude for all you’ve done for me. (Oh, and Coldstones!)

Ms. Nguyen (Chemistry teacher)—I miss being in your chemistry class, and the random discussion that goes on. You are definitely my favorite teacher, and you heightened my appreciation for chemistry, so thank you! I’m going to visit you next year over winter and spring break once UCSD lets us out. Oh, and thank you for writing me that letter of recommendation for the Torrance Memorial Medical Center Scholarship. That helped me so much, and it means so much to me.

Tyler Smith (11) —Dude you are a really funny guy. It was really cool getting to know you more through Aristocracy and the hangouts that you, me, and Ashley go on. Your (and Ashley’s) encouragements and support concerning my singing mean a lot to me. Thank you for helping me with prom preparations and other junk in my life. And thanks for making Ashley happy!

Samantha Lopez (12)—You were so hot on prom night, (and every day for that matter). Thank you for being my prom date; you made my night. You’re such a good dancer! It’s weird how after seeing each other in the locker bay I finally got to go with you to prom. How exciting! Hopefully I’ll see you when I go to Marymount to visit Ashley.

Mrs. Jensen (Aristocracy teacher)—Thank you so much for accepting me into Aristocracy last year. I really thought I wouldn’t have made it, but I guess I barely made the cut. I appreciate all the support you’ve given, not just to me but to everyone else in your choirs and other classes. I think I improved a lot this year and it means a lot to me because singing is something I do just to calm my nerves.

Jessica Escoto (12), Elyse Imoto (12), Lisa Li (12), Jennifer Supbuatong (12), Allison Ha (12), Sophia Long (12), Maki Murai (12), Chisato Akiba (12)—It was definitely cool hanging out with you guys, not so much this year as last year, but it’s nice being able to pimp with you guys. (I love your parties and salsa, Elyse! And thanks Jessica for inviting me to your hangouts; it means a lot to me!) Hopefully we’ll keep in touch even after graduation and well into college.

Ashley Nilges (12) and Drea Lofton (12)—Dude it’s cool how I got to hangout with you guys more this year, especially when watching Shrek 4-D past 10. That still puts a smile on my face knowing that we got past security and they didn’t check for ID’s. (Remember we assumed it’s because you, Drea, was carrying the plastic baby? That’s freaking hilarious). Oh, and Ashley, thank you so much for helping me with prom stuff, like asking Samantha Lopez to prom, driving me to Toys R’ Us and Albertsons.

Julia Fleming (12) and Kimmi Smith (12)—Dude it’s really sad how we barely got to hang out this year. I mean we went on so many Bomball runs but I don’t think it was enough. We were also supposed to freak to Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” I still remember on February 14th we went to the Justin Bieber concert. Even though I attracted strange glances from my peers, it was well worth hanging out with you guys and going to my first concert, so thanks inviting me!
